At the age of 12, Bonnie told her mother, “I’m going to be a dietitian and help people through food.” At that early age, Bonnie recognized the power of food as medicine. For over 30 years Bonnie has been sharing this message with others.

As a weight-loss strategist, Bonnie bust through the myth that weight gain in mid-life is inevitable. Her decades of experience helps you devise strategies to overcome everyday obstacles to weight loss and provides you with an easier way to over come the challenges of losing weight while living a “real” life.

How do you help women with weight loss?

My strategy is to work with women mid-life to identify and overcome obstacles that stand in the way of not only weight loss, but their overall health and happiness. I collaborate with my clients to develop nutritional strategies, leverage exercise, and establish self-care rituals to achieve their weight-loss goals and eliminate many mid-life maladies.

First, I help women believe that weight loss is possible in mid-life. Second, I help them build their dream of becoming trimmer and fitter. Lastly, I help women become empowered to take charge of their overall health. That’s what B3 Nutrition stands for: Believe you can, build your dream, become empowered.

 

Why should I work with you?

I bring 30-plus years of knowledge, skills, and life experiences as a registered dietitian nutritionist, certified personal trainer, and health coach to every session. I am also an accredited hormone cure coach, medically trained to identify hormonal imbalances resulting in weight gain.

I have a proven track record of success. Besides creating weight-management programs for hotels, hospitals, and insurance companies, I have helped countless women achieve their weight-loss goals and overcome common peri-menopause and menopause symptoms. My programs reflect my integrated approach to weight management.

Finally — but most important — I care deeply about my clients and the work I do. I honor the faith and trust they place in me by creating sessions that nurture feelings of being heard, understood, and assurance that they can succeed.

What’s your philosophy about weight and health?

I don’t believe in handing out strict meal plans that tell you how to lose 30 pounds in 30 days — I understand that ingrained neural patterns (fancy name for habits) conflict with the desire to change behavior. Reaching goals doesn’t mean regimented lifestyles, compulsive exercise, or chasing the latest “super foods.” It does mean finding and tapping into the motivation to take action.

With my clients, I seek to:

  • find a sustainable way of eating that satisfies taste buds, matches food budgets, and meets women’s nutritional needs.
  • develop plans focused on losing weight, strength, and health.
  • rebalance hormones through nutrition, botanicals and everyday life choices.

 

What inspired you to specialize in weight loss for women?

Many women — including me — are surprised by our body and mind’s noticeable transition as we enter mid-life. Initially, I was unprepared for the hormonally driven changes. I felt like someone had hacked my body’s main circuitry making me question my sanity!

I spent considerable time in the trial-and-correction mode. I knew that food, movement, and personal mastery were the keys to embracing these changes. Discovering how to “bio-hack” hormones provided the strategies needed to combat mid-life weight gain, lack of energy, poor sleep, hot flashes and the drive to share this knowledge with other women.

I have a passion for sharing what I have learned with women looking for answers to become their best. These years are when the spotlight should be shined brightly on nutrition, fitness, and self-care. My reward comes when clients discover how to outsmart mid life weight gain and create a healthier life for years to come.

  • Master’s of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western International University
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition from the State University of New York of Buffalo
  • Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association)
  • Certificate holder in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association
